Aluminium & Timber Shutters

For generations people have selected shutters for their windows because of the durability, classic style and easy maintenance that shutters provide. Nomad Blinds has an extensive range of natural timber shutters and aluminium shutters available that are suitable for any situation.

Material Used

Woodlore (Customcraft)

Woodlore (Customcraft) is our budget range of shutters suitable for rental or investment properties as it is a very durable product. Woodlore comes in three different colours.

Woodbury (Artwood)

Woodbury (Artwood) is our wet area or moisture resistant product constructed out of laminated timber with an ABS coating it is highly water resistant and suitable for bathrooms and kitchens (Not for outdoor areas). Woodbury comes in six paint colours.

Normandy (Phoenixwood)

Normandy is our signature product in the range constructed out of Phoenixwood. A light weight hardwood resistant to bumps and knocks, it has an even grain which gives a great look under stain and painted. Normandy is available in 16 different stain colours and 8 paint colours.

Sussex (Basswood)

The Sussex is our most versatile product for use with interior designers as it has the most extensive range of colours. Sussex is constructed out of Basswood and as such has a nice even grain which looks great in any of the 32 stain colours or there is also 17 paint colours available to suit any decor.

Amhurst (Western Red Cedar (WRC)

Amhurst is our Western Red Cedar product available in 2 clear coats with Light-Medium or Medium-Dark timbers or in any of the 17 paint colours. This product really does shine in the clear coat as WRC has the most beautiful grain of all the timbers.

Options Available

Paint Colours / Options

Custom made shutters come in a wide variety of standard painted finishes, and the range is dependent on the material selected. Please consult with your local distributer or interior designer as to which colours are available for each material range.

A ‘non-standard colour' facility is also available at an additional cost for some material types. To take advantage of this service, 3 colour chips (samples) from any paint manufacturer must be supplied, and the factory will match the colour of the shutters to this colour. Please note that this is not a ‘colour match facility' and the colour chips MUST be those from a paint manufacturer, not a sample painted onto paper or timber.

Special Shapes

Shaped panels are designed to cover architecturally or odd designed windows or openings. Their main attraction is their ability to follow the shape of these openings, keeping the integrity of the design. Shaped panels are very much a hand-made product, and require great skill and time to produce. Ask your local distributer or interior designer for more information if you require an odd shaped panel for your home or office.

Mounting Configurations

Nomad custom made shutters are available in a wide range of configurations like standard hinged, Bi-fold and sliding panels. Ask your local distributer or interior designer for more information on which configuration will best suit your situation.

Motorised

Normandy, Sussex and Amhurst custom made shutters are available with a motorised solution. Motorised shutters use a state-of-the-art battery operated motor to operate the louvers in the shutter panel. The motor is controlled by an infrared remote control module, and can be set to operate all the panels in the opening or each panel individually.
